This was my first ALL Original band. I found these guys from an Ad in the newspaper.  The first day I came to audition with them, there were a other musicians there for the same thing.  Ron and I were the chosen ones, that passed the audition. We were all gathered in a small apartment for the audition and it was a little strange, however, we seemed to hit it off well.

I was very impressed with Paul, Jim and Sid. They were great musicians and I felt fortunate to have the opportunity to play music with them.

All the songs were basically written by John. He had some basic  chord arrangements and lyrics. The songs did not have any real melody lines or arrangement ideas. Paul, Jim, Sidney and John had been playing the tunes and  had  began locking in on an arrangement. When I got involved the vocals became the focus point for Jim and I. We would work on the vocal melodies and harmony arrangements sitting out back of Jim
s apartment on the river bank in Miami Springs. When we practiced, we covered as much as we could and slowly the songs began to take shape. We never played a live gig with the complete band before the recording sessions began.
The final recordings were done at The University of Miami

We recorded Four songs:
01 Against The White Background
02 Getting Close
03 Lady I Love You
04 Cardboard Empire

Shortly after we finished the demo tape, Sid got an offer to go to Nashville and play with a touring professional act. Due to the fact that we were not playing or making any money, other members began to drift away as well.
Jim, Paul and I briefly played in another band with each other, but that quickly faded away. Jim and I did some duo work at the UM Friday night wine gathering during the later part of the year, but he went on to play in another popular local band
Release, and our musical relationship ended. In early 2008, I got back in touch with Jim and Paul.  Jim visited South Florida in late 2008 and my daughter and I had a great time jamming with him at local bar down in South Miami.
