Musical History of Steve Couch

1966 thru 2009

I got married in 1981, to my wife of 29 years, Patricia. We have one daughter Nicole, who plays with me in The Rodeo Clowns Band.

During the year’s right after my marriage, I played in numerous situations with numerous people. Eddie Arce and I spent many hours working on various original ideas.

We played pick-up gigs at parties and jam clubs.

I did not want to commit time to playing in a steady band. I had played in band since 1967 and I just wanted a break for a little while.

I greatly enjoyed floating around, playing with different people.

The musicians I played with in those days:

Steve Couch - Vocals, Guitars - original music

Eddie Arce - Bass, Vocals Originals music

Steve Stowbridge - Guitars, Bass, Vocals

Jim Token - Drums

Jeff Dorber - Drums

Chuck Barrasto - Guitars- Vocals

Ozzie Manzano - Guitar

Kenny Ahern - Guitar

We did a wide variety of covers and 10 -12 originals.

We did a big lake party at my house in the late 80's and Jim Token brought over Bill Robinson and Jim Ingals to jam at my house party. Bill also brought over drummer Steve Katz (alias:  Father Time.) Eddie and I played a few YES numbers and Father Time was able to play through these tunes, which was fun. We all jammed that afternoon, drank a few beers, and had a great time.
This was the beginning of my next strong performance band, Boomerang 2!
